Day by day we are committed to improving and meeting the needs of our customers.

It describes our values and how we want to achieve our strategy and our overall commitment to the principles of sustainability.

Committed with your success.

The main success factors of this our company are 40 years of experience, operational and technological excellence, the effects of scale, the integration and availability of raw materials, reliable and low-cost logistics, as well as the reduction of complexity.

Emulsifiers

An emulsifier, emulsifier is a substance that helps in mixing two substances that are normally poorly miscible.

Biocides.

Biocides are chemical substances designed to destroy, counteract, neutralize or prevent the action or exercise control of any organism considered harmful.

Corrosion Inhibition.

Corrosion inhibitors are traditionally used to decrease corrosion. They can be applied by continuous injection to the fluids produced or in batch type applications at regular intervals.

Cellulosics.

Cellulose is a biopolymer composed exclusively of glucose molecules. Cellulose is the most abundant organic biomolecule since it forms most of the terrestrial biomass.

Low VOC solvents.

The use of solvents with high volatile organic compounds (VOCs) is one of the influencing factors why the paint and coatings industry evolves in ecological terms.

Platinium Chemical SA, LLC

What do we do?

We are a company with more than 40 years of experience in the distribution of raw materials for the chemical industry in the markets of:

Customer Segment (Markets)

Agrochemicals and insecticides, Food, Automotive, Construction, Personal care, Electronics, Pharmaceuticals, Printing, Chemical intermediates, Lubricants, Metal mechanics, Mining, Paints, inks and coatings, Plastics, Cleaning products, Resins, Flavors and fragrances, Textile, Treatment of water

What we do:

We efficiently integrate the value chains of producers and clients in the target markets; formulating, producing and managing the supply of chemical products, providing value-added services and solutions.

What we aspire to:

To become the main business partner of the chemical industry hand in hand with our clients and suppliers in Latin America and the Caribbean, reaching world-class safety, quality and service standards, with the support and commitment of our collaborators.

The industry is looking for new alternatives that help reduce the increasingly notorious impact on the environment. This is possible thanks to green or organic chemistry, an option that allows the synthesis of chemical substances to achieve more environmentally friendly compounds and products.

Green chemistry means the development of chemicals and processes that reduce or eliminate the production or consumption of hazardous substances.

At Platinium Chemical, actions have been taken to minimize the impact on the environment, one of which is the sale of friendly chemicals. Some examples of green or organic chemistry are applied in manufacturing processes and even in final products, such as:

NMP (N-metil-2-pirrolidona)

Dimetilformamida

RHodiasolv

Prevents contamination at the molecular level

Reduces sources of contamination and prevents their generation during processes

Use innovative scientific solutions to real environmental problems

WHAT IS GREEN CHEMISTRY AND WHY BET ON IT?

There are 12 principles of green chemistry, which were formulated by Paul Anasta and John Warner and first appeared in the 1990s in their book Green Chemistry: Theory and Practice. These principles dictate that:

  • It is better to avoid waste than to dispose of it or treat it later.
  • The final product must incorporate the maximum possible amount of materials used during the process.
  • During the synthesis of chemicals, little or ideally no toxicity should be generated.
  • While reducing toxicity, efficacy must be preserved.
  • You must use the least possible amount of auxiliary substances and always choose the safest ones.
  • Auxiliary substances are solvents, absorbents and separating agents, among others.
  • Minimize energy consumption. For this, it is recommended to carry out the different processes at ambient pressure and temperature.
  • Always prioritize the use of renewable resources.
  • Avoid all unnecessary referrals. This includes lock groups or check-in and check-out steps.
  • Whenever possible, catalytic rather than stoichiometric reagents should be used.
  • Biodegradable products have to be designed.
  • To avoid the formation of dangerous substances, proper monitoring and control of the process must be carried out.
  • Finally, the risk of accidents must be reduced, selecting processes and substances that minimize the potential for accidents.
